Visa

Visa

Please take a look at the How To Apply page for a full explanation of the visa application and registration process.

In order to register in the Persian language program at Shiraz University, you need to apply for a student visa. It is not possible to study here on a tourist visa. Even if you visit on a tourist visa and apply for a student visa from here, you will need to pick up your visa in a neighboring country and re-enter on a valid student visa.

When you fill out the application form, you will receive a reference number, which is the number of your student file at the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. After completing your registration, please email us the reference number and tell us where you would like to pick up your visa. Shiraz University Consular Services will then complete your visa application on your behalf and you will be informed when your visa has been issued.

In brief:
1. You must apply for a student visa;
2. register on SAORG and get your reference number;
3. email us the reference number and let us know where you want to pick up your visa;
4. wait a few weeks before the visa is issued;
5. you will receive an email with the information for your visa pick-up.

Waiting Times

We cannot give you an exact timeline for the issuance of visas, which is handled by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We cannot even provide you with information about the status of your visa after Shiraz University Consular Services submits the application on your behalf.

Nevertheless, as a general rule, a student visa is issued within 4 weeks, depending on the passport a learner travels on. After 4 weeks, you could get in touch with us for an update on the status of your visa, though we cannot provide you independent information on that. But we could inquire and update you.
